GREETINGS GENTLEBEINGS!! AFTER THE CONTINUED SUCCESS OF THIS EVENT, THE TRANSFORMERS RARE PAIRING COMMUNITY IS PLEASED TO PRESENT:

RARE PAIRING FEST 2025!!

Rare Pairing Fest is a now-annual event we host, with the goal of getting more of our favorite rare pair content out into the universe! Like last year, we’re going to use the new format, instead of the the 2020 and prior years format! Used to, we’d pull old prompts from the weekly request posts and put them back up again, but this year we’re bringing new prompts and you all will attach YOUR favorite rare pairs to them!

This year’s event will run from October 12-25, 2025! There will be 28 prompts (two for each day) with assorted themes. We accidentally assembled a very movie-themed list, but that doesn’t mean your fill HAS to be about those movies; prompts are where we start but not always where we finish! Interpret the prompts however seems best to you, or skip them entirely and just make whatever strikes your fancy.

The prompt list is broken down by day, and posted below. You create your work and then post to Bluesky, Tumblr, Dreamwidth and/or Pillowfort on the correct day. All participants will get a participation graphic, and anyone who makes a fill for all 14 days will get a special prize! Anyone using the bonus theme will get yet another prize! There are no minimums or maximums for this event and ALL content types are accepted (including photos & hand crafts!) Also, all ratings are accepted, but please tag appropriately! And don’t forget the #2025TFRarePairingFest tag! ALSO, if you’re participating in another event (Inktober, Spook Me or similar) please feel free to double dip your pieces! (No one has enough time in the day to create two or three or more pieces and Mod eerian will never expect you to!)

As promised, mod eerian is home from work with the 2024 participation banners!

I want to start by thanking everyone again. From my fellow mods to my graphics maker(s) to all if the participants, Rare Pairing Fest could not happen without you and I am so grateful for you. Thank you, from my whole heart.

For those of you (and there were MANY this year!) who posted a fill for every single day/prompt set, here is your banner

Now, some notes for 2025!

RPF will return October 12-25, 2025! It will run on a similar posting schedule to this year, with prompts going up 6 weeks before the main event and small promos for it and other fandom events throught the year. What it won't do is run on Twitter/X anymore. We WILL still run in Tumblr, Bluesky, Pillowfort, Instagram and Dreamwidth so there are plenty of places for you to still participate if Twitter was your primary method.

We'll see you in 2025, and beyond! (And watch for mod eerian's next event, Beast Wars Weekend, coming in March 2025!)

Well, as much fun as it's been, Rare Pairing Fest has come to an end. You all were awesome! The Tumblr queue is going to be running for several more days posting all your fills, on top of all the fics on AO3, the pics on Twitter and more!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This is the most successful Rare Pairing fest that we have ever had the privilege of hosting.

Now, time zones are a thing! So if it's still the 26th where you are, you can still post and qualify for participation banners. And if you needed a hurricane amnesty, you're good too! If it's the 27th for you now, you can still post and we'll share your pieces but you won't qualify for the banners. If you posted even one entry for RPF2024 during the Fest, you will qualify for a banner. And if you posted a fill for every day, you'll qualify for the special banner.

Banners will be posted along with next year's Fest dates after mod eerian gets home from work tonight. Thanks again! Y'all are AWESOME.

Its day 7 of Rare Pairing Fest, and I don't know where everyone has found this energy but WOW! If this is your first Rare Pairing Fest or your sixth, we hope you have a great time this year! If you’re unfamiliar with the event, that’s okay! Rare Pairing Fest is a now-annual event we host, with the goal of getting more of our favorite Transformers rare pair content out into the universe! Like many other fandom prompt fests, this is going to be a “we give the prompt, you bring the pairing” fest. Create more of what you (or your two closest friends, lol) want to see in the universe!

Anything goes for Rare Pairing Fest! Celebrate your pairings through paintings, sketches, longfic, short fic, photography, comics, knitting, baking, whatever! Do what’s fun for you!

And in the vein of having fun, don’t let Rare Pairing Fest stress you out! Filling one prompt does not obligate you to fill others, you don’t have to create for a different pairing every day (unless you just want to) and you can 100% double dip your Rare Pairing Fest prompts with other challenges and use (for example) your Inktober fill as your Rare Pairing Fest fill as well.

This is an all ages, all ratings allowed fest. That means tag your work appropriately! And please also make sure your work hasn’t been posted online before the Fest period.

Again this year, participants will get an LJ-styled banner which you can add to your profiles across various sites as a form of bragging rights. Participants who create for all 14 days will get a special banner and extra bragging rights.
